I only go to my dance studio three times a week but i need a floor to practice on that is in mine or my friends home. is wood floor or linoleum fine? I'm afraid carpet will ruin my jazz shoes. please answer as quick as you can. thanks ~ XOXO Jani
I do jazz in jazz shoes on these floors and my shoes aren't ruined
Wood floor works well, but I don't recommend practicing jumps on it unless the floor has been sprung.
A Wooden Floor Is Best , Not Linoleum . Carpet Isn't Good , It Will Ruin Your Shoes , & Is Basically A Dangerous Surface To Dance On.
Wood floor is always best for dancing because your feet slide with less resistance than with linoleum, tile or carpet. Than is why dance studios have wood floors. However, dancing is very hard on wood floors and they have to be refinished often when used for dancing. Years ago, when dancing was popular at parties, people put cornmeal on the wood floor to make it easier to move your feet..
