i have 2 young red tail boas that at this time i have in a 40 gl tank as of now i am useing a 100wat hot light as a heater is that ok do i need uv lighting and how offten do u need to use them

It will vary with the class, type and capacity, as well as local code. A 5 CO2 extinguisher and a 20 CO2 extinguisher aren't going to cover the same area. A class A or class AB extinguisher might not meet local codes. Call the Fire Marshall in your city/town. (might be a Fire Inspector or Fire Chief ) They would know, for sure. You could have them do a 'walk-thru' and make recommendations.
