Question:

What laptop brands do you recommend? Which one should I choose? Give me some advice?

IBM laptop, Apple laptop, Dell laptops, Sony laptops, Toshiba laptops, HP laptops, Fujitsu laptops, Lenovo laptops

Answer:

Apple Apple has the best consumer satisfaction of all computer manufacturer. Apple has the most secure operating system out on the market (mainly due to the fact that not everyone has it, so hackers don't target it). But Apple is always quick to fix any security holes that are discovered anyway. The main thing you'll be using for your homework will be Microsoft Office, and they make a version for the Mac. Mac's in general have longer lifespans than Windows computers. I have an uncle who has been through 3 laptops (1 custom and 2 Fujitsu's) because of viruses and hardware failure. While my parents are still using my old Powerbook G4 from 2004 with no problems at all. The biggest reason to by a Mac over an HP or any other laptop for than matter With a Mac you have the choice of running either Mac OS or Windows. With an HP you only have the choice of running Windows or if you're really tech savvy Linux. With a Mac you're effectively buying 2 computers for the price of one. If you find that you don't like Mac OS, then you can install Windows Vista. If you find that you hate Windows Vista, you can go back to Mac OS.
Take okorder
all are fine - except generally for acer which has low end products and virtually no support a poor value Netbooks are inexpensive If you are just browsing - then they are fine - although the screen and especially smaller keyboard may be no joy to use On top of that for any other use they are generally underpowered Most brands have low end models which are there to get you into the door at big box stores to purchase extended warranties - which with laptops ( depending on the price may make sense) Dell is good in that they have actual service Asus are highest quality , followed by Lenovo perhaps They all have lower end laptops and higher end higher quality business quality laptops Most of the components are not really theirs but some one else's assembled The first question is do you need a laptop or is it a a piece of furniture for status If you are a student , need portability or perhaps have a very small space to put the computer or you are a student and moving at some point - then laptops make sense Otherwise laptops are a stupid dumb idea Laptops are slow , expensive , cannot be fixed for the most part If repairable they use only that brands parts for the most part - which are old parts and slower than the current If say a dvd burns out - you cannot just go to best buy and buy a dvd burner on sale Women seem to love laptops as they are cute
IBM may not have the looks but is tough so it's useful for professionals who travel a lot. HP is cheaper and some of the Laptops are really good. Apple no idea. The truth is when you buy a laptop look for 1) Battery Backup 2) Toughness i.e. the Laptop shouldn't break when it falls down just once 3) Features 4) The RAM, Hard disk space, graphics etc Based on some of these requirements choose the brand that you want.
Heh, That's an open ended question since computer brands are like fashion tastes. They vary widely from person to person. Apple makes some killer laptops in their Powerbooks. If Windows is your platform, Toshiba makes a quite sturdy laptop. If you own one already you know that bigger screen means heavier laptop so be careful what you wish for, you just might get it and be carrying around 45 lbs of gear. Avoid HP and Comcrap laptops like the plague. Dell you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good one.
