Answer:

for grooming: plastic grooming tote or bucket dandy brush soft/body brush metal curry comb rubber curry comb hoof picks (at least two) mane and tail comb safety scissors (rounded off at end) detangler (i.e. Show Sheen) fly spray paper towels for tack: halter lead rope lunge line saddle (one suited to your riding style) saddle pad girth stirrups bridle bit reins saddle cleaner and conditioner tack cleaning sponges vet care: vet kit container (to put stuff in) clean rags (like 3-5 t-shirt size) liniment ointment (triple antibiotic preferred- I use Swat in the summer) (70% isopropyl) rubbing alcohol (there are many uses) cotton balls (but you don't use those to clean wounds) rectal (digital) thermometer horse first aid book veterinarian phone numbers standing wraps (4) cotton rolls and/or no bow leg wraps no stick Telfa pads elastic bandaging (like Vet Rap) Epsom Salt poultice diapers It's not a complete list, but if you use a search engine or read a horse care book, you should be able to deduce what else you'll need
Do you have another way to heat your rooms? A fireplace is not a very efficient way to heat. So much of the heat goes up the chimney along with a lot of the warm air from the rooms you are trying to heat. Unless you have a set up with outside combustion air, a glass front cover and a heat exchanger system, you should not use the fireplace for heating but only decoration.
