I sent my sister to the store to buy spice run for my beer can chicken, and she brought back marinade (not an injectable one) and I'm just wondering why should i do with it? Any ideas?
appox 3 lbs chicken 2 cups buttermilk 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 4 cloves garlic, Smashed/skins removed 1 TBL pepper 11/2 tsp table salt 2 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp paprika 1 TBL maple syrup (can leave out, maybe sub with honey, I don't always add it in) Directions Place the chicken drumsticks in a large freezer bag, and add the buttermilk and 1/4 cup of oilAdd the garlic cloves,peppercorns, salt, ground cumin, paprika and finally add the maple syrupMix around in the bag and throw in the chickenLeave the buttermilk-marinated chicken in the fridge overnightPreheat the oven to 425°FTake the chicken pieces out of the bag, shaking off the excess marinade, and then arrange them in a roasting pan lined with aluminum foilDrizzle over the 2 remaining TBL oil and sprinkle with more paprikaRoast in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until brown and juices run clearI adapted this from Nigella Lawson's recipe for my family's tasteIt's yummy!
