What does the air exchanger do on the A/C ?
Boy Paul L good answer. since when does air conditioning have anti freeze in it. it's called freon and when you blow air across the exchanger it removes the heat from the air and changes the state of the freon from a gas to a liquid and that's how it cools.
In a nutshell, it take the warmer air and makes it cooler before it gets blown through the fan into the house. The air conditioner has antifreeze in those thin pipes inside and as the air conditioner runs, it heats the antifreeze which by some bizarre property gets really cold when it is heated. As the air is pulled through the air exchanger, the warmer air is condensed and cooled and blown out into the house. The water that drips from your air conditioner (if you have a window unit) is the result of the consdensation.
