What's is comformable anti-slip tape?
Well gee, isn't that a clever bit of advertisingBut can it beat bat tape in cost and durability?
Where I live, 26-inch or 28-inch single speed gentleman bike for commuting are very much cheaper than any road bikeNo need to built one They are built to last with almost no maintenance, complete with fenders/mudguardsCan entertain most curbs, potholes, loose gravel, weather You can opt for 25mm tire instead of 28mm or 32mm tire, if cycling longer distance (wider tire more comfortable and durable though heavier for longer distance) Front and back carrying baskets are available, too
well, the chain isn;t going to like 'the elements' - no matter what kind it is the frame should be aluminum quality of the bottom bracket, crank, headset, and hubs-not going to matter why leave good stuff out in the rain? the good stuff won;t resist rust any more than cheap stuff you mention weight, spending $500 might save 1 lb is that worth it? in fact, why not just buy a cheap SS bike like the SE draft? they are about $200 new at performace bikei;d get a brake too it;s a lot of insurance for 200grams and $25 as far as carbon, sure if you want to spend the money wle.
Why can't you commute on your mountain bike? Is it a heavy Downhill or Freeride setup? I commuted 15 miles one way, on a full suspension cross-country style mountain bike for several yearsI just had a second set of wheels with slicks on them for commuting, which was a lot less expensive than a whole new bikePersonally, If you only have one road bike, I'd get the BuzzIt will be a lot more versatile for you in the long run in case you change schools, get a job etcSingle speeds offer some advantages with their simplicity, but if it starts getting hilly or your commute gets longer, they can limit your average rider.
