I have a Goodman all in one a/c and gas furnace outside my home. Its a few years old and I have never had natural gas connected to it until recently. This is my first time ever using natural gas to heat my home. I was wondering what the chances are of having carbon monoxide coming through our vents? I think its pretty slim b/c of all the safety devices on this unit.I am going to get a carbon monoxide alarm for my home and would also like to know can the carbon monoxide alarm detect CO coming through my vents?
seem interior the reflect and if it sounds such as you're donning extraordinary pink lipstick additionally on your tongue, then you definately have been uncovered to CO. Hubby says examine the exhaust gadget for a leak.
The CO alarm will detect CO regardless of where it comes from.
Yes you could get Carbon monoxide for the registers. BUT you A. would have to have a cracked heat exchanger (which I doubt) B. The flue gas is getting sucked into the unit (which would only be possible if you had an economizer (which you probably do not) this is for fresh air intake and is an add on accessory when installed. There is a device that corrects this a flue stack . Mount the Co detector anywhere in the home, as long as it not near a return and it will detect any CO if pressent. You should be fine though.
0% unless the heat exchanger is cracked.then the percent of co is still not necissarily deadly, but remember effects range from sleep, to hema(how do you spell bruise in medical terms)toma(yeah im ignorant,im not a doctor),and can even result in bloody eyes etc.
