Question:

What should I do with the plastic window part of the toy packaging?

..The cardboard part is recyclable, the twist ties are reusable, wrapping paper and ribbon have reuse or recyclable value. I can't think of what to do with the plastic part.

Answer:

Regular trash unless the type of plastics is clearly labeled.
if it is recyclable it will have a triangle with a number in it . Or garbage if it does not. the type of packaging that manufacturers use is there for protection against shop lifting and if they wanted to risk that, a very simple low waste package could be used.
You can recycle it, you would need to bring it to the special recycling plant and all for money. Store them somewhere, they will most likley add up! Then again, some things you just can't recycle, no matter how hard you try to recycle them!
It depends on the number in the recycling triangle, and whether your jurisdiction recycles that number. To my knowledge (and I could be way wrong on this), most of these kinds of plastics are not recycled.
In my own ways, I've recycled this before. It's not worth much, but I model railroad, and to be honest that acetate that we use for small windows is bloody expensive. So I use the plastic windows and then paint my sashes on them, add details, cut out what I need, and use them with my model work. You'd be shocked how much money that saves, and since my models won't get tossed out, it's not ending up in a landfill.
