Question:

What should I use to stiffen my crochet mobile?

This is my mobile, it's made from acrylic yarn I really want it nice and stiff, would it be better to use a fabric stiffener or a glue mixture? I've never done this so please be detailed in how it's doneI just bought some spray startch (obviously that's not good enough) so what method should I use so that it will keep it's shape and I can hang things from it without it collapsingThanks so much for any input

Answer:

if you can't get it MIG welded, pop rivet a patch of aluminum over the sealant to prevent flexing.it will still probably leak,so use it on a lake, not whitewater.
put a out door carpit with a indoor carpit under it
Seems like it would work.
I found some stuff called aluminium weld in a squeeze tube, or some JB WeldThat is a pretty good temporary fixYour best bet is a mig welderBody shops usually have mig welders.
Get fabric stiffenerAleene's makes one called Fabric Stiffener Draping LiquidIt's available at most craft stores like Michaels, AC Moore and Jo-AnnThey also have recipes for homemade stiffener using white glue (like Elmer's) and water.
