What size pallets do I need to do this with a full size bed? And how much should I get?
the avg. pallet is 48x40 x48 this I know from working in a shipping and warehouse dept. but it all depens on the weight of the items you are shipping. Hope this helps.
This Site Might Help You. RE: What is a typical size of a fully loaded pallet in the U.S.? In length, height, width. I'm trying to get some shipping quotes and need to be able to estimate the cubic feet. Thank you
It was my experience, when working in a warehouse, that items were shipped by weight rather than volume usually a maximum, more or less of 2450# per pallet). But since you asked for cubic feet...a standard US pallet is 40 inches by 48 inches. (It weighs around 45-50# as a general rule...some heavier, some lighter...just in case you have to do the weight thing later.) A standard semi-trailer height is around 110 inches, so you could possibly pile the stuff that tall as long as you did not overload the weight the pallet could support. Provided that the items did not really overlap or under-lap the pallet, you are looking at 40 inches plus 48 inches plus ---> now the height. Measure the high point of the load (and hopefully it is fairly level). We'll say it is 60 inches high. 40 + 48 + 60 = 148 and that divided by 12 = 12.3 cubit feet. Cubic feet is measured by length plus width plus height and divide by twelve. I hope that helped you.
