if you want more detail just ask :)
Floating here means getting their teeth done. But from what I have read it can also mean hauling. If that is the case I would recommend getting something lighter you don't want a big winter blanket on especially if they get stressed while moving and sweat. I also recommend wrapping his legs for protection.
I don't understand. normally floating means that your getting the horses teeth done. I'm not sure what a rug has to do with a horse whatsoever..
I'm in Australia too so that question made perfect sense to me haha. For floating I usually just go with a cotton rug unless it's early on a winter morning, then if it's cold enough I'll leave the heavy rug on or I'll switch it to a pola fleece.
I live in Australia, Therefore to me floating a horse means transporting a horse to another place by float. Rugging a horse on a float really depends on the horse itself whether it sweats alot or gets nervous. I have one horse that sweats alot when on the float therefore on a hot day she goes without a rug, and on a cold day she just goes with a light cotton rug so she doesn't sweat. But my other horse doesn't sweat at all when on a float so on a hot day he would wear a cotton and on a warm day he would wear a kersy (fleecy rug). It really depends on what type of horse you have, if he is hot blooded and sweats alot or if he is a cold blooded horse. Hope this helped.
I live in Aus so floating a horse to me would be taking it somewhere. Dependent on how the horse is floating can determine the kind of rug. IE: i have an arab that will get on the float but he is a nervous wreck the whole trip. So i will generally put either a really thin cotton on if its a bit chilly or just float him naked because he sweats like a pig. We also have a quarterhorse that is not phased by the situation at all. So he can be in a rug that is a little thicker when it becomes colder, as we know he wont freak out and drip sweat. Hope it helped :)
