Answer:

You want a mask that will fit your face exactly? Remember that paper mache will shrink a little as it dries, so you need to make it a bit biggerPut a thin layer of paper strips soaked in water to make the baseLet it dry slightly, and then remove it gently and put it on something soft that has the basic shape of your faceLet it dry quite well, and then put other layers of mache on thatIf you put too thick layers it will take forever to dryUse thin layers, and let it dry before you do the nextYes, it takes a long time, but you can then make it fit you betterThe other way is to make a mold of your face first, and then construct the mask over thatIt takes longer, and is more expensive, but is good if you are going to make several masksYou will have a ready-made substitute for your face!
paper mach takes about 6 to 48 hours to dry, and making a mask you would want to have a face moldi know we made face masks out of paper mach in school and we used a putty like substance to creat the base of our masks then we would take the base out and have the mach by itself.
Yarn, crochet hooks in several sizes, scissors to cut the yarn when needed, a blunt plastic yarn needle to sew blocks together and ends in, a ruler, and a tote bag to keep everything in one place are good starter suppliesYou can probably get all of that for under twenty dollars to startIf you go to a smaller yarn store, you might be able to find out if there are any groups in your area for yarn craftersMost crocheters will be happy to help you learn! You can also access a great deal of information on the internetSince this blanket will be your first project, I would suggest starting with making smaller blocks and sewing them together rather than one big pieceI've been crocheting (and knitting) for more than forty years, and one of my favorite patterns is a simple single crochet, chain one pattern! It makes a flexible fabric that is closed enough to be warm, but not stiff and heavy like some of the old ripple afghans can be.
