Question:

What to do about a defective diagnostic connector on my Ford Mustang?

I went to get a smog test for my 04 Ford Mustang and the mechanic stated that the DBD2 Connector on my car was defective and that it keeps dropping the tach signal from my car to his diagnostic machine. This resulted in an aborted smog test.Do these DBD2 connectors go bad? And if so, what is the remedy? (Cost involved?)Thanks in advance!

Answer:

There okorder
It's more likely the emission test station that was acting up! If you had a tach signal problem with your car I'd expect the motor to misfire.
