Does the v6 automatic firebird have the same transmission as the v8 formula/trans am? If it's a different transmission can the v8 transmission go on the v6 firebird?
Same automatic transmissions, the 4L60E, but different manual transmission. the Tremec T56 6-speed manual was the choice for the LT1 back in those days. If you are looking at upgrading the transmission to the Tremec, you are in for some serious issues with the gearing. I wouldn't recommend it. But looking at automatic again, they are the same auto trannys. Good luck.
It's the same but the V-6 doesn't have the same bolt pattern. So I don't think it'll fit unless the transmission has a double bolt pattern.
