Question:

what type of house roof is best for northern ohio?

I‘m building a new house in northern ohio. We have harsh winters here. What style roof is best for this condition? Should I get mediterranean style or french or what is best?

Answer:

I would say too much water.
We need to know what type of orchid it is first! If it's a phalaenopsis and the bottom leaves are falling off then your OK. If, however, it's the top leaves, throw it away, it could live but doubtful and if it did it will never rebloom for you. It's called crown rot. If is a dendrobium well then that's natural as most dendrobiums are deciduous and shed their leaves in natural cycles. A lot of people will mistakenly think they have killed the plant when actually it's getting ready to rebloom. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but contact your local American Orchid Society.

a-frame with slate or copper sheeting are greatest choices, corrigated sheet steel is easiest and cheapest to install will repel the wettest snow that can be thrown at it and will not allow snow loading, last a long time, easily repaired
