Question:

What would be the best way to dye quartz?

I want to dye a clear quartz crystal a bright green. Like Kryptonite.Should I just get some Stained glass paint, or what?

Answer:

if they are anything like the glass spirals i have if you want to break them then you will have to try, i have 4 glass jewelry dropped them several times and not even a scratch, if the glass was easily breakable then it shouldn't be meant for ear wear because the company that made the product can get in a lot of trouble if it breaks in the customer's ears
They are most likely glass, not quartz. The glass they use for these is the same glass they use for cookware, sex toys, and phone screens. It's pyrex, aka Gorilla Glass. They are notoriously hard to shatter. A friend of mine has some of those, and he's dropped them on ceramic tile and they just bounced. No cracks, nicks, chips, or anything. If it's actually real quartz, then they're rocks. Literally. Quartz is a rather hard mineral, but if it's super thin it will break like a window.
