that is spoke of as hydrostatic rigidity. you're able to hire a basement waterproofing corporation, they in many situations all have a life-time garauntee. they have some exceptionally hi rigidity sales strategies yet on average the fee could be around 75.00 in line with linear foot for an unfinished basement and as much as a hundred and twenty.00/ linear foot for an entire basmt. you're able to do the job your self while you're above reachable. no longer a role for the weekend warrior. Chris, Look directly above where that rug is or was (overhead) Do you see any kind of a slow leak or evidence of a leak anywhere around there overhead that is dripping down onto the floor? That would be my guess. Good luck
Moisture is passing though your basement floor. This is relatively common. The reason the rug gets wet is that it collects the water vapor and causes it to condense and the areas where there is no rug the vapor goes into the air. I suspect the rug in question has has some kind of plastic component to it If you place another piece of plastic the same size as the rug any where on the floor and it will do the same thing.
My guess would be that you DO have a small leak somewhere under that rug. The rug is acting like a sponge and soaking up all of the water, some of which is evaporating. The leak is likely very small, but you should be able to pinpoint it once you take the rug up. If it were a large leak, or a constant one, the water would eventually go beyond the rug once it was saturated. Since this hasn't happened, I believe it may be a very small groundwater leak. Al
