Question:

What would happen if an inductor a capacitor and a resistor are all connected together. How to calculate the total resistance?

Hello there everybodyI wanted to ask a question related to resistor capacitor and inductor connected togetherwhat if one of them is in series and the other are in parallelwhat if an inductor is connected in parallel and a resistor and a capacitor are in series.how can i calculate the equivalent resistanceisimply cannot understand the relation between all the three components

Answer:

If they re in aeries the total resistance is R. If they are in parallel, the resistance is still R. A better question is What is the impedance? This is entirely different.
There are many sites on the internet which explain a.c. theory. It is unrealistic to expect anyone to transcribe it here. Search fro electronics forums.
