What would happen if I asked a police car for a lift?
do not cross the tires left to right. just front to back. steel belts on the tires shift when spun the opposite direction and will leave 'waves' on the sidewalls.
If you were drinking they would arrest you for a public intox and give you the ride, or they would say something like I will drive you to jail. They are public servants but most of the time they don't act that way.
Depends on the circumstances. when i was a hippy hitching in texas about two in the morning in Houston I didn't know i was in black neighborhood when a police officer offered me a ride out of the area. Now days I'm not sure with the prevailing attitude of most police officers now days they would probably arrest you for asking a stupid question.
depends on the circumstances. if it's a blizzard in January and your car has broken down on the Al-Can, and the tow trucks are all backed up wit a 5 hour wait list, you might get one.
on radial tires you keep the tires on the same side. like take the front to the back and the back to the front. if you go from left to right or right to left then your reversing the belt in the tire and it won,t steer right.
