Is he still one if he has a prius
Sure he's a car guy. Only so-called 'car guys' who need a big V8 muscle car or lifted diesel pickup to hide their insecurities think someone who drives a Prius can't be a car guy. Really, a car guy is anyone interested in cars. To me cars like the Prius represent the future. People laughed about four cylinder cars back in the 1970s but today they can blow away those old V8 muscle cars in the straights and absolutely slaughter them in the corners. Electric motors give 100% torque at zero RPM and can recover energy and save your brakes at the same time through dynamic braking. Locomotives have been using hybrid power for over 80 years for those reasons. The next revolution will be hybrid pickup trucks. Again, 100% torque at zero rpm, having a motor on each wheel to completely eliminate drive shafts, transfer cases, differentials, and half shafts, and dynamic braking so you can save your brakes when hauling or towing down big hills.
Hi yes even more so as he is thinking long term about electric being the way forward.like a tesla which left a new camaro v8 behind and did a 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds.
A car guy is someone who is very knowledgeable about cars, their features, their pros and cons, prices, values, and can compare one car to another in terms of performance, economy, reliability, etc. He does research before he buys and is very smart about what he buys, and why. If he bought a Prius, he might be a smart car guy -------- or someone who only bought it because they think they are cool by saving the planet, which they are not.
