show a reflection of light.
Reflection of light is when a light wave bounces off of something. Light is reflected off of things and bounces into your eye through your pupil to activate the cells (rods and cones) in the back of your eye on the retina and that sends a signal to your brain and then you can see. So anything you can see has reflected some light. A mirror is very good at this so you can see the light that reflected off of your own face. Sunlight bounces off of things and so does the light produced by light bulbs so think of the things you can see outside or in your house when the lights are turned on at night.
If you can see something with your eyes (something that is not generating it's own light like a star, a flashlight bulb, glowing ember from a fire, etc), it is because there is light reflected from the surface.
