Question:

Whats the best way to fix a leaky sink pipe?

I know someone who thinks it‘s fine to throw some gunk on the leaky spot and then wrap it in duct tape? That doesn‘t seem very secure to me. What do you think?

Answer:

you have some very good answers here but they forgot about the rotor, it could be warped. are they any black marks on the opposite side of the rotor. don't drive it , at least over 5 mph when you test drive it. make sure you check everything on there, after all these are your brakes .
Check caliper mounting bolts and reaction rod mounting if it has one. I had similar squeal on goldwing after couple years storage- used WD40 on mounting bolts that are supposed to allow caliper to 'flott', applied brake a few times and caliper moved, no more squeal.
maybe check the calipers, and check to make sure the brake isn't ceased, hopeully you'll be back out on the road in no time :)
Are we talking a copper pipe with pressurized water, or a plastic drain pipe? If copper, then it needs to be replaced ASAP; unless you have experience with pipe soldering and fitting, call a plumber. If a plastic drain pipe: First see if its leaking at the joints. Sometimes you can tighten it by hand. If its an actual hole in the pipe, you can remove it by hand, take it to Lowe's or Home Depot and ask for a replacement part just like it. Good luck
