First of all, it dries quicker, its a bit bulkier so it wont stick to your skin, also fibres also can create materials with superior water, wind and environmental resistance compared to plant-derived fibres. IF your talking about professional swimwear like speedos then mostly nylon or lycra is used this is so the suits can last longer for competitive swimming and are more easily chrlorine reisistant so the suit wont wear out fast
