Please help! I have a ceramic oneAren‘t those supposed to be better?
Ceramics spreads the nice and cozy temperature extra calmly over the blades and is smoother so your hair is straightened calmly and easily, without it catching. a each day straightener is basically made from metallic that could want to have warm patches and funky patches on it so received't straighten your hair besides. Tourmaline is basically yet another type of ceramic yet i am going to under no circumstances tell the version. A steam straightener is garbage - under no circumstances holds. do not difficulty with a steam one.
a ceramic straighter won't burn your hand when your using it as much as a regular one will :)
In a nut shell, Yes, straighteners with full ceramic plates are thought to be the best b/c they heat up quickly and distribute the heat more evenly along the plates. This allows you to get the style you want with less damage to the hair follicle, (though you always want to use a heat protecting spray or serum) because you shouldn’t have to go over the hair with the styling tool more than once. These tend to be the most expensive brands, Chi, T3, BaByliss, etc. Though Hot Tools makes full ceramic irons for only around $60 with a 3 year warranty. Most of these brands double as a curling iron too which is awesome. Most flatirons on the market are ceramic coated (Revlon, Tigi, etc). They usually don’t get quite as hot, at least not evenly across the plate. Which is why they have number dials not temp gauges. They are also designed to wear out. Over time the ceramic coating will chip and crack from usage, product build-up and heaven forbid, dropping. This will cause more damage to your hair and more out of pocket cost as you will have to replace every year or so. I don’t know a whole lot about titanium plates. I do know that all the ones we sold at ULTA were ceramic plates with titanium coating which in a nutshell gives a smoother, sleeker finish, and I believe were better for fine or thinning hair where the full ceramic is a must have for think, coarse or curly do’s. Hope that helps!
