whats the difference Bones Ceramic Reds Bearings 75$ and Bones Swiss Ceramics Bearings 145$
Sounds like your brake light switch went south. It shouldn't matter whether you give it a tiny amount of pressure or a straight up four-finger squeeze, it should light up all the same once the lever reaches a certain point. I think it's time to price out a new switch.
Bikes do 80% of braking with the front. It's a thrill, imagine running into a brick wall with no way to stop. It';s so stupid they don't even consider it on the bike test. Do NOT buy a bike with no front brake, if you want to try just don't touch the brake. Many years ago the 'Chopper crowd didn't believe in front brakes because the English racer bicycles could do stoppies and allegedly threw some riders over the bars. the difference between the 600 lb motorcycle and a 30 lb bicycle didn't bother them a bit.
Janice knows what she's talking about except that on old bikes, there isn't any screw adjustment. Bikes normally use two methods to activate the front brake light, either a simple switch that the brake lever activates or a pressure switch. On many bikes the pressure switch was located near the lower triple tree and will have two wires attached to it. If your bike has the pressure switch, remove the two wires and touch them together and as long as the ignition switch is on, the brake light should light. If just the ordinary mechanical switch, you may need to squirt a little WD 40 into the switch and work the button back and forth. If all seems ok otherwise, check where the brake switch wires connect at the main wiring harness.
Bones Swiss ceramics are supposed to spin longer and faster, but there's always been a long going argument between which is better and which is a better value for the price! Personally if you're a skateboarder I don't see the need for swiss ceramics, reds alone are great!
