The boiler is dripping and the pressure has dropped to the red on the pressure dial. Should I worry or can I wait til end of next week when plumber coming. A friend has told me I can turn the black knobs underneath to refill boiler. Is this true?
When you say dripping,do you mean the relief valve? ( brass/bronze colored valve either on top or side of boiler) If it's a water boiler and the pressure gauge reads over 30 psi then the valve is working as it should and you have a pressure problem. ( waterlogged expansion tank, bad fill valve, etc.) Your friend i believe is incorrect. You need to have a professional that you can trust look at your system. If you dont know one get recommendations from someone you can trust-Good Luck!
