Question:

Honda Civic suspension problem?

I was driving a 94 civic coupe, and hit a curb on an icy road near my house. I hit it at about 10-15 mph at now the front left tire has moved back a bit. I changed the tire to a spare because when i kept driving i could hear it grinding against my fender. When I was driving it for the last few hundred yards with the spare the car seemed to handle OK but when i tried to brake the brakes were not working properly so i used the ebrake a few times in order to slow down. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong, and how much would it cost to fix it? I bought this car a few months back and am not sure if it‘s worth fixing it since the car only cost 3500$.

Answer:

From your description, at the least you have bent the lower control arm, which is repairable. It may cost $200 or $300, including alignment.hopefully you haven't distorted the unibody too much, which would require some extra work to get the alignment.
It sound like you damage suspension system on that side and bend not only the rim but the A-fram . The damage parts will hap to be replace. You may have uni body damages in that area. And it sound like you broke the metal brake line going into that hub. So that way you don't have any brakes. It hard to say how must it will cost. Cause there is no way look under the vehicle. A regaular repair shop can handle the work if the uni body is not hurt. If is you hap to take it a body shop. Which can handle all the repaires. They will tell you how much it will cost. Give it in to writting, which is good for 30 days. If it is going to run more than a set amout. They hap to call you to get your okay.
