It sounds like water hammering, very easy to fix. Find the cut off / shut off on the outside of the house.easy to find, trace your water line from the street to the house, also turn off the hot water at the tank. Then open all your faucets and wait till no more water comes out, then close taps, and turn on your water supply. This action will stop the hammering.
