Question:

When I was a child our house got hit by lightning way more than any other house?

Our house was really small, in an area with no special landmarks. It had a hand dug dirt basement in which we found human (finger bones in particular) bones and arrowheads as well as some saws and other artifacts. We had some people in and they said that it was not a burial ground. We donated everything we found. The strange thing was the lightning. Virtually every storm there would be one strike that would hit our house. I remember a few in particular. One hit the aerial (we lived in the country) and melted most of the appliances plugged in. The TV, both lamps in the living room, the toaster. Some other stuff too. Another one was a double strike. It hit the back porch which woke me up (I was about 5) and then almost immediately after another hit a small pipe on the outside of the house (an old broken tap) on my bedroom wall. The lightning blasted a hole in the wall under my bed and I remember seeing the forks of lightning streak across my bedroom floor. What may have caused this?

Answer:

For a quicki way to make sure your new to you car is there in the morning, loosen the negative clamp on the battery (top post style) so you can twist and take it off. after you open the hood. And in the morning open the hood and drop the clamp on and twist it tight enough to work. I usually went to one of thos drive up lock smiths in shopping centers that had a little kiosk and you could pull right up, they can change out your locks pretty quickly and you pay no trip charge. And if you have an AAA card they may be able to point you in a good direction for an honest locksmith. Changing the locks are a good idea, and so is some kind of kill switch in the car. Just dont make the mistake of forgetting about it and try to start the car, you feel like a fool.
You can use them, but not at night. I rode with a black tinted one for a few years, now I ride with a mirror tint one. Rode past lots of police, and they didn't seem to bother. If you do alot of night riding, then it may be better to purchase a 'Visor Insert'. They cost alot less, and can be removed ( Re-used) easily.
I wouldn't recommend it you could get fried if the lightning strikes your house
