Question:

When looking for a gas additive/ fuel injection cleaner i see so many to choose from. Some are $1.00 and some?

are $9.00 and a bunch in between . How can anyone know which is best? What is the difference?

Answer:

Three of the better ones are: BG 44K, Sea Foam, and Chevron Teck Ron. Teck Ron can be purchased 4 bottles in a pack for $10.00 from Costco.
Just always buy fuel that is an ethanol blend. That's all that the cheaper additives are - alcohol. It cleans out deposits and keeps fuel from freezing if you're in a really cold climate.
The only really good additive that I've come across that actually does clean the injectors well, is Red Line. It's not the most expensive or the cheapest. But, I've used it and it works. There is another one that Lucas Oil makes and that one is good too. If you do think that your injectors are extremely dirty, then nothing works as well as a good pressure cleaning. Not what you get a Jiffy Lube or from any bottle. Your mechanic would have a pressurized container that hooks to the test port on your fuel rail. He mixes a professional grade cleaner and some gasoline in it. Shuts the fuel return line and fuel pump off and pressurizes the system with the container. It works the best, but a lot technicians out there don't take the time to do it.
