Question:

When preparing cement lime mixture mortar, the lime paste used in masonry engineering is still available after dehydration and hardening?

When preparing cement lime mixture mortar, the lime paste used in masonry engineering is still available after dehydration and hardening?

Answer:

The incorporation of lime paste is not fully cooked in mortar, it will continue after ripening in hardening of the mortar expansion, the mortar damage due to bulging, thereby affecting the mechanical properties of masonry.
In the preparation of cement lime mixture mortar, should be used in accordance with the quality standards of quicklime. In order to ensure the quality of the mortar, it is necessary to make the lime into lime paste before use. Lump lime cured into lime paste, should use the filter pore size is less than 3mm * 3mm, the curing time of not less than 7d; the ground quick lime powder, the curing time should not be less than 2D, to ensure the full maturation of lime. In order to ensure the quality of lime paste, measures should be taken to prevent lime paste from drying, freezing and polluting. Prohibit the use of dehydration hardened lime paste.
Lime powder is not fully mature lime, coarse particles, can not improve and ease the role of, therefore, shall not be used directly in masonry mortar. As the lime and lime powder which has been dehydrated and hardened can not play a plasticizing role in the mortar, it will also reduce the strength of mortar and affect the bearing capacity of masonry, so it is strictly prohibited to use.
