Basically, I'm wondering if i take a mirror and angle the light from the sun to another surface, will that final surface heat up, or will the mirror heat up? And if both heat up, which will heat up more?

Call your local inspector to check the house out or fire department! Fatigue would be a sign of exposure check with your doctor plus your detector going off sounds like somethigns going on there. Get things checked out before something bad happens.
Just wipe the solder off the pipe and fittings before it solidifies. Use a dry rag so you don't cool things off in the process. Then, once cooled, using very fine sandpaper, sand the remaining thin layer of solder away. If you want to restore the pipe's sheen, graduate to finer grit and then maybe to a copper polish to make the finish uniform.
