Oftentimes wood, good against some sword blows but a solid throw by a strong man with an iron spear would pierce it. The only good thing about those shields were there were very easy to handle and were lighter than metal, so one could better handle a weapon at a cost of lesser personal defense. On the other hands the huge metal shields of the Romans worked great but afforded them little in terms of weapon mobility, which is why their swords were mainly for stabbing as oppossed to hacking
For a betta to have the best life possible it should have a 3-5 gallon tank(nicely decorated) with a soft filter(that can still such up stuff) and an appropriate sized heater keeping the tank 75-82F. A betta should also have a varied diet of BettaMin once a day and microworms or bloodworms(live or freeze dried) once a week. That is probably the best you can do for a betta. My setup is close to that except I have a 2.5 gallon tank.
I have been through 3 pairs of these things in the last 7 years long before skullcandy existed. I used to buy them at walgreens. They are great headphones. They don't sound like the best headphones but they were my fave headphones. I understand skullcandy has a lifetime warranty and will replace them if they break. The bass can be crazy Insane but not of great quality. I would reccomend these to a bass head but not an audiophile
