lime powder is used in baking cookies,cakes etc.I can't seem to find it anywhere.Does anyone know where?
Lime is acidic and water is nuetral. So once they mix they produce an acidic solution but dilute.

This is only sparingly soluble , but a clear lime water solution can be obtained by allowing the undissolved Ca(OH)2 to settle out This solution is basic with a high pH because the dissolved Ca(OH)2 is a strong base and a high concentration of OH- ions is produced. Is lime H2O an acid or base: Take your pick depending on what you mean.
