find a supplier that sells them in uniform size and let the recyclers haul the odd balls off to be reused.
well this is tricky, if you have a receiving team and a inventory team make them work together, comunication is one and the first rule of a whse and you know that, so after this is in place you create a new layout for your whse and also implement new procedures, how to received, where to send it after checking, advise inventory team once pallet is ready, so they can assign a area for that and at the same time writte that down the new location and update your sistem by the end of the day if you dont have time on that minute. do not use the same area for production pallets and pallets that are coming from receiving dept, sound like a lot of work but once you implemented and make your people work your way you will have no more issues in the future. also you can advise your vendor that way you want the pallets to be send it to yuo they have to do it. if you have racks make sure to use the firts level for items the you move the most, and the top level for items you will not move in a couple of weeks. if you have boxes assign one rack only for boxes ready to ship, one area for partial orders, and one area for receiving goods you know just follow the abc whse basic rules. never go home without finishing updating your sistem.
