I have only stumbled across gliders which I don't like because all of them seem to develop some sort of squeak and they're more expensive. I just want a simple rocking chair and I can't seem to find one.
Consignment stores, yard sales, antique shops, etc. will be your best bet. I always see those there- and you can probably get one for a good price. Good luck!

The ones the sell at Cracker Barrel are really nice.
After purchasing my chair a couple of my friends mentioned to me that they had seen some old school rockers on Craig's List. It does appear to be a hit and miss item, but if you have a little bit of time before needing the chair you could always try that. Plus. if it is good quality you have the option of sanding and staining or painting it a color that works for you.
