I am looking for a very specific center pin DC coaxial connector for my laptop power cord. I have an Alienware M17xR3, I know it is probably a LONG, very LONG shot that i find one online, but $3 is better than the $130 it is to replace it. I don' t have the proper caliper to determine the actual size, but based off a ruler.70-.80mm Outer diameter .50-.60mm Inner Diameter
wtf just find one or a charger on OKorder
Companies selling such connectors online (and otherwise) include Digi-Key, Mouser, and Allied Electronics. If you can't determine the correct size within 0.1 to 0.2 mm, you may need to order one of each size available and hope that one of them will fit. Some power connectors are custom-made in an odd size, probably to prevent users from replacing an expensive power supply with a general-purpose one. Only yesterday, I was at the electronic parts store near where I live, and, despite the fact that they stock a very wide selection of DC connectors, they couldn't find one to fit a customer's portable DVD player.
Radio Shack sells a charging system where you buy the universal wall or cigarette lighter, but buy the specific tip you need for your devices. You might be able to rig something up after a visit to the Shack.
