If the 56 limit does not include the pallet height, then you can get (56 / 8 = 7) 7 layers or 16 boxes, or a total of 112 boxes. 4) Stacking the boxes on their sides (12 vertical) would allow you to get a maximum of 24 boxes in each layer (4 rows of 5 boxes). So, referring to answer 3, the maximum would be 6 x 24 = 144 boxes (if you include the height of the pallet), or 7 x 24 = 168 boxes (if you disregard the height of the pallet).
