Depends on what kind of music you play. Try local bars and cafes.
Hey there... You really should checkout the open mic nights at various chicago bars...check out areas near the Metro, Martyr's, Double Door...etc...smaller bars will have open mic nights.... There are a TON of ways you can promote yourself and not perform free...why do you want to work for free? I don't work for free! May seem tough but you can do it!
