Question:

Where does the orange dimmer wires from the wire harness go to on the stereo wire harness if there aren't any?

I have two orange wires that come from aftermarket wire harness that are for a dimmer and illumination but no wires this color coming from the aftermarket car stereo wire harness. Are these wires not to be used then? No dimmer? Thanks

Answer:

Aftermarket Radio Wiring Harness
Car Stereo Wire Harness
If the after-market head unit doesn't have any illumination wires, then the wires from the adapter harness should not be connected to anything. Make sure they're insulated so they can't cause a short circuit. An illumination input on an after-market head unit will dim the display when you turn the lights on, but not all head units have this feature.
most stereos come with a dimmer wire, this is usually sent straight to the dimmer switch. If the stereo did not come with one, then the answer is no, because you cant. Did you read the instructions? you forgot to mention whether or not the stereo can dimmer, and if theyre are wires for it. If the stereo aftermarket does not have a wire that allows the stereo to dimm, then theyre is no wire to allow your stereo to dimm. Wires from different manufactures can color code wires in unusual colors somtimes. Just because your harness has a blue wire, doesnt mean that the stereo has a blue wire, it may have a red wire instead.
