Question:

Where's you favorite place to preform?

Where is your favorite place to preform music? My favorite place to preform cello is at old folks homes because it's such an appreciative crowd. How about you?

Answer:

I have two old 'war horses' that work well. The Chopin A Major Polonaise ' Polonaise Militaire' is a crown pleas-er for veterans groups. The Brahms Hungarian Dance #2 in d minor is another. These are what I call 'flash and trash' pieces. I also like to do the Chopin Nocturnes and Brahms Intermezzos. I have a regular weekly Church gig, do programs through the local Arts organization periodically, weddings, funerals, and volunteer programs at the local VA hospital and Alzheimer's care facilities. I am a semi-retired pianist.

I always liked playing in big churches. The old fancy ones. They sound and look beautiful. More so when you're playing Baroque music. I also liked playing outdoor concerts, sometimes. Depends on the weather. I like playing at schools too, because the kids get really excited about it. I'm hoping that means that some of them get inspired to learn a new instrument or practice more. =p
i love performing in huge rooms or huge concert halls/auditoriums. I love the way it makes me sound with all the echoes. its amazing.
I like playing in the pit orchestra at the opera house.
