Question:

which cold air intake is better?

i have a 97 honda prelude and im trying to decide on a complete cold air intake. which system is better for the prelude (better as in most performance) currently i am tossing up between a KN typhoon system complete cold air (CCA) and a fujita complete cold air system

Answer:

I would go with Fujita less of a hassle when you clean the air filter, There dry fulters and dont need to be oiled which is like a magnet for dirt and they have the same Design like ApexI.
The one that is all ready on your car. Every car made comes from the factory with a intake that gets its air from outside the engine compartment (cold air intake) Most after market cold air intakes get there air from behind the radiator (one of the hottest parts of the car) kinda ironic isn't it You will not get any noticeable improvements at all from changing your air intake Yes most of the open filters flow more air that a paper filter but that is because they allow more dirt to pass through the filter. You can not beat a good Wix paper filter they let more air in than your car will ever possible need and they are much much cheaper. But it will give you a shiny new part to show off to all your little ricer buddies and talk about how it gave you 30 horse power lol.
The KN 69-1302TP intake kit is designed to fit the 97 Prelude 2.2L. The KN website shows a dyno chart with nice power and torque gains on a 98 Prelude test vehicle. The KN kit has an excellent warranty and it is guaranteed to increase horsepower. The installation instructions are included online and are very detailed. The KN kit has a California Air Resource Board (CARB) Executive Order #D-269-30 covering the 1997 Honda Prelude 2.2L and is therefore street legal in all 50 states.
