Question:

which cold air intake should i get?

which cold air intake should i get?

Answer:

To be honest, if I were you I'd save my money. 300+ dollars for 10-15 horsepower isn't worth it. It you want, or can, try to make your own intake. It wouldn't be that hard to do as long as you know what you're doing. Usually the only things you would need to connect to the intake tube is the EGR hose and the idle air hose and the MAF sensor. I've done this before on my Crown Victoria, which actually uses the Mustang GT engine (4.6L V8), and I only felt a small, but noticeable boost in performance. For a 4.0L V6 mustang, you'll probably end up with less. But, again, I really wouldn't spend 300 dollars for just a small amount of power.
get a kn cold air intake. they are great or a aem one (dry filters). the kn ones stick out nice cuz the filter is a oiled one and shines nice. Some people say they dont get much HP and TQ out of them but some say they noticed fairly great gains. if u have a small 4 cyl. eng. they would get like 5 HP out of them, but the V8 can get as much as like 20-25HP. It depends on how restrictive the stock one is, and how the filter is. maybe just gettting a filter from kn would be nearly just as good as the cold air. I have a 4.0L 2004 ranger (same eng as yours) and i got 13HP and 18TQ out of it and i feel a huge gain out of it. They even sounds pretty awesome in how they make a nice suction sound and at WOT they make the engine sound more aggresive.
sounds like 1 of the transmission lines is leaking where it screws into the radiator ! check out both lines and if 1 is leaking get a piece of 3/8 gas hose, cut the line where the hole is at and put the hose between the line and use 2 small screw clamps. if it,s a line leaking all you need is a piece of gas hose, a tubing cutter, 2 screw clamps and a screwdriver. also check in the radiator to make sure the transmission fluid is not going into the antifreeze ! if it is then you need another radiator because there is a hole in the cooling tube inside the radiator.
Your trans cooler is intergrated into the radiator, the lines are leaking, find out where and fix them, check your trans fluid with the engine running, in park and the parking brake set, use the correct fluid stated in your owners manuel, follow these directions and you may dodge a bullet, if you keep driving it like this you will be buying a transmission,
