Question:

Which cold air intake system should I get?

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE and I now want an increase in horsepower. Which is the best to go with keeping the price under $200 or possibly a little over? I have no idea where to start!!

Answer:

go wit AEM or a spectre kn will be out of ur price range unless u stay sttock and go with a kn air filter in ur stock housing unit it will run between 50 and 80 for the filter worth it if u ask me
For a noticable horsepower increase you want to modify the intake (air in, obviously) and the exhaust (air out) otherwise it'll be like you breathing in and not being able to breathe out!
The one that is on the car from the factory is the best one. Aftermarket cold air intakes are relics of the 1960s and 1970s, when stock intakes sucked in hot air from over the engine. Your 2000 Nissan has a really nice cold air intake, as most or all cars made since 1990 do. No aftermarket intake will produce a noticeable power increase over what you have but all will reduce fuel economy, especially in cold weather.
