Which is better brake pads? ceramic or semi-metallic?
I chain my tire about once every three years. Wouldn't do it to a sport bike. Those things don't handle well.
10,000 miles would be extremely optimistic, if you are going to get a bike that size and that capable you want to fit tyres that are commensurate with the capabilities and power. Realistically you are looking at 3-4,000 maximum depending on the tyre and rider. Unless you are locking the rear wheel with engine braking it should not alter the wear rate. If you are using it mainly in commuter traffic, where you will not be leaning far and accelerating hard, you will square off the tyres, look at dual-compound replacements for the OE.
For me ceramic brake pads is far way better than semi-metallic. And also your rotor won't easily crack.
It depends WHAT kind of car and WHAT kind of brakes?? What the country of origin is, mileage, year, and overall brake condition. ALL cars require brake fluid changing. many times replacing the pads WITHOUT doing a proper fluid maintenance will cause problems on down the line! I like brake pads that are QUIET and leave NO dust. Centrix works nicely for most cars, as DID AXXIS pads from australia. THe idea is to dissipate heat and still have great friction as needed. If the pads do NOT fit your caliper correctly, you really have NOTHING. SEE??
ceramic all tHE WAY. they last longer and work great in extreme heat and cold. worth the investment.
