How do I pick a curling iron out for every day use? What brand do I pick - Hot Tools? Helen of Troy?

ceramic is better and i never heard of helen troy. and i never tried hot tools but ceramic definately. its better for your hair!!
i might choose warm kit ceramic in view it is way less damaging! I rather have worked with the two and the main important difference is the ceramic would not pull hair (with hairspray) out. some people have faith that the metallic keeps to be warmer longer.yet with warm kit they have a tempature dial permitting you to instruct it up if want be ;)
Ceramic is way easier on your hair. . and Hot Tools has the best curling tools.
