Question:

which is the best tape to use to keep my area rugs in place on top of my carpet?

i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks

Answer:

Im okorder.com ... Measure the rug and purchase a same-sized non-slip carpet pad online or from a home improvement store. Place it beneath the rug to secure it in place. Cut squares or strips from a roll of double-sided tape, and attach them around the perimeter of the underside of the rug. Remove the paper backing from each strip, set the rug in place, and push around the edges of the rug to secure it to the carpet.

Do not place rubber backed area rugs or any rug that cannot breathe over a carpet as the carpet on the bottom will discolor to a yellow tint that is permanent.

You might try using a liquid fabric softener. Sounds crazy but if it will remove hardened latex paint it may remove the adhesive without damaging your carpet. You can also do this throughout your home to reduce static electricity in the winter time. There is also a product called L.A.s Awesome I purchase it at Dollar General Stores in OK, it removes all kinds of stuff.
