Question:

Which Styles of Kung Fu has Tiger, Monkey, Mantis, Snake, and Crane animals?

Which style of Kung Fu has an animal system besides Shaolin? Which one has the Tiger, Monkey, Mantis, Snake, and Crane animals (not Shaolin because Shaolin has Dragon, Tiger, Leopard, Snake, and Crane.)

Answer:

Mantis is not a part of a style, it is a style in its own right. There are also more than one type or style of Mantis. There is Southern Mantis as well as others. There are estimated to be at least 300 to 400, and possibly more style of Kung-Fu. Man have more than one version of branch. Do not get caught up in the idea that Shaolin contains this or that as the subject is controversial at best. You mentioned Shaolin as being Dragon Leopard, Tiger, Snake and Crane. But truth is that everyone did not learn all of those styles. Many students were taught only one of them. The problem here is that people tend to assume that things are always one way, when in fact they often break all rules of assumption. Monkey is another concept or style that is often misunderstood. There is and is not such a thing as a monkey style. It is not easy to clearly explain. The few styles that are called Monkey styles are rare. There is also what ar known as drunken styles. These are not always separate styles but sometimes are taught as a version or level of other styles. Drunken Monkey is often perceived to be a set style or referring to only one specific style. It is not so. drunken monkey can refer to more than one variation of this and may also be seen as something coming form more than one unrelated style. As I have attempted to do, it is a difficult and confusing subject that is often not clear or correct as to what has been published about it. ....
