Question:

Which yarn is the best?

So I pretty much have all of the stitches down, I know how to read patterns and which hooks and all the other stuff that goes with knitting and crochetingBut all of my stuff comes out so stiff!!! I try to make a slouchy beanie, and when I put them on, they stick straight up! I end up looking like Marge Simpson! Does anyone out there know of any other yarn that I can use besides the crappy quot;Red Heart Super Saverquot; yarn? Yes it's very cheap and you can pick it up at Wal-Mart at any time of the night, but I would gladly take the time to go out and look for soft, less scratchy, loose yarn and doesn't (for lack of a better term) suckAnd by the way, I'm still unfamiliar with the terms quot;worsted weight, alpaca, wool, etc.quot; I really don't know the differenceI would love some advice )

Answer:

If you wind the ball tight, as in it is a rock hard, then yes it will damage the yarnIf wound in a loose ball, then no, it will do no more damage than when it was in the skeinIt will be fine.
Take a dime sized amount of lotion and rub in your hands firstThen, run your fingers through your hair and gently run your hands over the frizzy areasAlso, if that doesn't work, take a dryer sheet (that smells nice) and run it down your hair.
